Job Description:

Our client is an accredited medical education company that develops and delivers engaging CME/CE programs for healthcare professionals. Its educational initiatives address clinical, operational, and access-related challenges across Oncology, Rural Medical Education, and General Medicine.

The Associate Scientific Director will develop high-quality accredited medical education content across multiple therapeutic areas while managing assigned projects from development through execution. This role collaborates with expert faculty and internal teams to deliver scientifically accurate, engaging educational programs on time and in compliance with CME/CE standards.

The position reports to the Senior Director of Scientific Affairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop scientifically accurate, evidence-based medical education content across a range of therapeutic areas
  • Translate complex clinical and scientific information into clear, practical, and engaging content for healthcare professional audiences
  • Develop content for multiple formats, including slide decks, enduring materials, webinars, multimedia activities, needs assessments, and other educational resources
  • Lead scientific content development and review in collaboration with faculty and internal teams
  • Develop outcomes assessment questions and provide scientific insights based on program outcomes data
  • Support development of abstracts, posters, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications
  • Ensure scientific accuracy of marketing and communications materials
  • Collaborate with Business Development to support opportunities aligned with evolving therapeutic landscapes
  • Manage multiple projects and deliverables of varying complexity while meeting established timelines
  • Ensure content complies with ACCME standards, applicable CE guidelines, fair balance requirements, and principles of independence from commercial bias
  • Support on-site execution of select educational activities as needed
  • Provide regular project and status updates to Scientific Affairs leadership

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of medical or scientific writing experience developing accredited medical education preferred, or comparable experience developing scientific educational materials
  • Strong ability to interpret clinical data and translate complex scientific information for healthcare professional audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently and collaboratively
  • BS/BA required; advanced degree such as MS, MPH, PharmD, or PhD preferred
  • Familiarity with ACCME policies and standards preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% domestically
